A born entrepreneur, he has been rejecting the status quo since the recorded history of his life.He self-taught himself to get into IIT Bombay from a very small place where it was outrageous to even dream of IIT. Following his passion for choreography, launched a dance club with only 5 people in the 1st year, making it the biggest club in campus within 2 years. Led teams to win national TV competitions and has rejected movie offers. As a student, he founded a successful design studio and made graphic designing mainstream in IIT. Straight out of college he was hired as CTO of IITians PACE & in reward of his entrepreneurial outlook was quickly promoted to CEO of a separate arm dealing with digital education. He has a deep understanding of everything web & tech and has the sixth sense of being ahead of the curve. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, producing music, poetry and reading.
He has the knack of structuring convoluted thoughts and making sense of every situation. Devil is in the details and he is rightly the devil everyone needs. He is an engineering and management graduate with over 8 years of strong experience in operations and business development. He can sell ice to an Eskimo. He has had a previous stint with entrepreneurship as the Co-founder and director of Websoft, an enterprise in customized software solutions and ERP. He has worked across multiple verticals, software, media, education and hardware with biggest names in the country. He is a die-hard patriotic, all the way down to his caller tune. In his free time, he loves traveling and theatre.
As Co-founder and Director of Mexus Education he led a start-up right out of college and turned it into one of India's largest educational enterprises with footprints in around ten thousand schools, touching over a million students across 8 countries.
Kunal is also the Co-founder and angel investor in Tushky.com, a web 2.0 marketplace connecting consumers with local activity, workshop and experience providers. Tushky has recently raised second round of funding invested in by GSF and 500 startups, a leading venture capital fund.
A a panelist and key note speaker in several entrepreneurship and educational fora, he has received various awards and recognition for his role in the field of education, most recent being the educational impact award bestowed by Calicut University. He has been a guest lecturer for entrepreneurship in IIT Bombay and Ruia college, Mumbai.
Amateur vocalist, professional theatre artist, playwright and a poet at heart, Kunal's has an exemplary zest for entrepreneurship, enterprise building and life in general.
When not helping Tushky evolve, Nitin works at Google Inc. as a scientist. He has traveled to over sixty countries, photographed for fashion magazines, and uneducationally holds a doctorate in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Prior to Resurgent he worked in A.T. Kearney, KPMG and the erstwhile Mitchell Madison Group.He has extensive experience with Fortune 100 as well as small and medium enterprises in India, Americas, Europe and South Asia on variety of complex strategic and financial issues on growth, recapitalization and restructuring. He has served as strategic advisor to leading Private Equity clients such as Francisco Partners and Bain Capital on pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition financial and operational turnaround of investee companies. Recently he helped a Private Equity client in USA to turn-around a Telecom Products & Services company and guide a successful IPO process.
Kaushik holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, a rank-holder Chartered Accountant and graduated with honors from University of Calcutta.
He is also the co-host and curator of Founders Forum India. Rajesh is building the vital pieces of a nascent ecosystem for the early stage investing in India. Rajesh has made over a dozen angel investments so far. He is launching India’s first multi-city accelerator programme (GSF Accelerator) in October, 2012. Earlier as the President of Reliance Entertainment, Rajesh led Reliance Group’s foray into media & entertainment spanning movie eco-system, broadcasting, and New Media. Previously with the Times Group in India, Rajesh launched a number of successful ventures across different domains: Publishing, Radio & TV, Retailing, online classifieds, MVAS, e-commerce and e-travel. He founded Indiatimes.com, a leading Indian web portal and pioneered MVAS services in India with the first cross-operator service 8888. Rajesh is an alumnus of HBS [AMP], and has a fellowship from LSE.
When he isn't busting the chops of noob startups or predatory angel investors, or firing up Startup Weekend in Bangalore or Mumbai, you will find him devouring unsuspecting vegetables at Delhi’s best vegetarian sushi joint.
As a veteran expert in the investment banking and hospitality industries, Shishir specializes in outsourcing, offshoring, procurement, HR structuring, and organizational design.Before joining Opera in 2003, Shishir worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in New York and for Inductis in its New York and New Delhi offices.Shishir holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Economics from BITS Pilani, as well as an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
He has a Bachelors in Engineering from IIT Bombay, an MBA from Wharton School of Business & lives in Hong Kong these days. He has spent most of his 10 years of professional career in the benevolent act of giving - either advice as a consultant or money as an investor. Aside, from this self-sacrificing act of giving, he likes to indulge in more mundane stuff ranging from taking a nap to pondering over the mysteries of the universe. His hope is for Tushky to become the pre-dominant marketplace for discovery of services in an otherwise large, fragmented & chaotic Indian services industry.
