Introduction: Dance is a beautiful art form comprising of rhythm, movement, energy and engagement of space. It is used as a form of expression, communication, social interaction and is presented in a spiritual or performance setting. For us dance is joy. We are a performing dance company and a temple of art. The confluence of dance and music form our soul . The dance productions are deeply rooted in Indian classical dance traditions and yet contemporary in their presentations which make them dynamic, refreshing, innovative and a visual treat. The journey of training artists in classical and contemporary dance techniques began in 2005. "It might be a profession for some and an art for many. But for us, it’s a need, a need to provide deliverance to hundreds of human emotions and transcend from the chaos surrounding us. It’s the way we relate with people and seek beauty in creation. For us, dance is a manifestation of serenity and divinity. It’s our belief that dance can shape their destinies, when they are brought together. We hope to see this belief of ours materialize in form of Chalana- dance for a cause. Where is it? Rhythmotion, Bangalore When is it? The dance productions of Rhythmotion are deeply rooted in Indian classical dance traditions and yet contemporary in their presentations which make them dynamic, refreshing, innovative and a visual treat. The journey of training artists in classical and contemporary dance techniques began in 2005.   Artistic Director of Rhythmotion Indian Classical & Contemporary Dance Company, teacher, choreographer, performing artist Chitra Arvind represents a vibrant new generation of dance makers. Her approach to choreography is ingenious, fresh and inspiring. She fuses Indian dance culture with highly individual sounds of the artists to produce works that are innovative and bang up-to-date. Abhinaya (Expression), Nritta (technique) and Natya (Drama) aspects of Nritya (dance) have been thoroughly explored by Chitra to create the magic. Chitra was invited to work in London for seven years with leading contemporary dance choreographers including Shobana Jeyasingh (Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company), Wayne Mc Gregor (Random Dance Company) and Laurie Booth as a performer, teacher and rehearsal director. There, she had the opportunity to acquire skills in the Indian martial art forms of Kalaripayattu, Chhau and Thang Tha; Modern dance techniques including Graham, Cunningham and Release; and has completed a Choreography course from the Place Theatre, London. She has toured the UK, USA. Europe, South East Asia and South Africa extensively and won accolades for her performances. Terms and conditions: 1.
